HBO Max has updated its Fire TV app to no longer support devices running Fire OS 5. The company's support page was recently updated to list Fire OS 6 as the minimum supported Fire TV operating system version.

If you're a Max subscriber, you may have noticed that your app icon recently changed. That's because Max, formerly HBO Max and formerly HBO Now before that, has changed its name back to HBO Max today.
